Mother's Day ~ Part 1

On Saturday, the day before Mother's Day, we drove up to my Mom's new house to give her her Mother's Day gifts, cards, and to install a doggie door. Mom made my favorite meal that she cooks (Pot Roast with potatoes, carrots, and gravy) and we had that for lunch. It was a beautiful warm and sunny day and we got to see lots of critters which Zack loved. Jake doesn't show much interest in animals yet other than to crush or stomp them...but lets hope that changes.
While the patio door was open our first critter came into the house to visit. :)
Zack spotted an Alligator Lizard under Grammy's hutch and Daddy picked it up with a dish towel. Grammy was not happy. *L*
That's my fingertip petting his/her back. :) See how far away I was from it's head. *L*

He/she looks a little dejected after being kicked out of the party.

The next critter Zack spotted was a Lady Bug. :)
He laughed and said, "It tickles!" when the Lady Bug crawled on his hand and arms.
Next we spotted a worm. Jake wanted to pulverize it but Zack kept the worm safe.
They thought it was a snake and kept saying, "Snake! SSSSSSSsssss!"
And then a grasshopper.....a BIG one.
While we ate lunch, the boys played in Grammy's cupboards with a flashlight. They had fun and we were able to cram our food down quick without too much trouble or fuss from them.
Daddy had to make sure it really was fun.....and it was....see the smile on his face. :)
Before we headed home, we gave Grammy her cards and presents that the boys made.
Magnets! :)

Jake painted the flowers on the left and Zack painted the butterfly on the right. :)

It was a very LARGE happy day! Thanks for the gifts...the help around the place I needed...and the doggie door from the Nugents/Marchs! Madison loves it and Meow used it this morning! Yippie! Now...hopefully...no more Lizards!

Love and hugs to my wonderful family!

Wow that was a big Lizard. I can't wait for the call from Grammy saying that she woke up with him sleeping on her pillow. LOL
Thanks for installing the Doggie door for mom.

Dang girl..that sounds almost identical to some of the things my boys do! So glad you were able to connect with nature..and, ahem, see your hubby...in his ever present yoga crossed legged pose....and your boys either try to slay or save the critters! You are one lucky mama! Glad you had a great day!

yah...well if that Lizard has any smarts...he will know the third time is NOT the charm! (he has been here before but outside) I am going to keep the door areas well sprayed for bugs and spiders...yup!

Looks like you had a good mother's day Jenny! That lizard was cool looking! We came across two snakes on Mother's Day - how funny. Brian's got some great flexibility there ;).

Need Christmas or Birthday Gift Ideas??
