Awww Crap!

Soooo Kaiser denied me for individual coverage due to my Protein S Deficiency....ugh. I'm still waiting for COBRA paperwork from work so that I can elect that while I try to appeal to Kaiser to overturn their decision. I had a doctor's appointment today for another cortisone shot in my hip to help with the bursitis pain that I've had since getting pregnant and delivering the boys and my doctor said that I really shouldn't have any more cortisone shots but rather physical therapy....ummm, no insurance after 5/31 Doc! I told her about my Kaiser denial and she wrote me a letter to help with my appeal. I thought that was nice of her. I hope it helps! *Fingers Crossed!* Now I need to quit blogging and sit down to write an appeal letter....good times!

Our New Addition!

Since I can't take the boys to the park by myself, I decided to bring the park to our backyard! I found a little slide on Craig's List and we decided to get it. We cleaned it up and the boys seem to be enjoying it!

Numero Uno...Must Have Toy!!

In the March house, the favorite toy this week has been a large orange bucket...minus the yellow handle....which is out in the garage because it has been used as a tool to "whip your twin brother". Jealous?!? You should be because apparently a large orange bucket makes for loads of fun. I personally don't share this opinion but then I'm only a March by marriage. It must be a DNA thing....

Week in Review

This week has been full and exhausting. If I ever thought it would be a piece of cake to be home with the boys, I was sadly mistaken. They require CONSTANT attention which means I need to be on my A game at all times....no zoning out or snoozing allowed...so here's a list of everything I accomplished this week...
  • Took care of two sick babies.
  • Six loads of laundry.
  • Thawed and cooked a 20 lb turkey (with stuffing and mashed potatoes...OK, instant stuffing and mashed potatoes) that has been in our freezer...taking up too much room...for far too long.
  • Made two trays of turkey enchiladas with the left over turkey meat to replace the empty spot in the freezer left by the turkey. I know...that pretty much cancels out the above accomplishment but it took a day in the sink to thaw and almost five hours to cook so I think it counts!
  • Took three walks with the boys in the stroller.
  • Went to Walmart.
  • Went to the grocery store...twice. (What a pain! It's crummy that the grocery store doesn't have double seater carts!...pushing the boys in their stroller and dragging a cart behind me was brutal on my wrists!)
  • Went to Costco.
  • Swiffered three times.
  • Wrestled a barely alive, crushed, and partially dismembered Horny Gulif (aka: Mosquito Hawk) from Jake's sweaty fist. Good times People!
  • Chased and caught two marathon runny noses.
  • Answered countless wrong number calls..."Noooooo...this is not Pace Supply."
  • Hid behind the door...staring silently through the peep hole...at two sets of solicitors.
  • Watched a neighbors canopy fly over the fence into another neighbors yard during a wind storm. It's still sitting there...mangelled...two days later.
  • Went to Target.
  • Cleaned the sliding glass doors and doggy door.
  • Cleaned one of our three toilets.
  • Worked from 5 to 8 am every day doing data entry for my part time job.

PHEW!! I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something but the above list will have to do.

The pinnacle of this week was getting denied for individual medical coverage through Kaiser...who is my current carrier through the job I just left...."Helllooo Kaiser, it's me Kaiser member Jenny!?!??" So...as of 6/1 I will be uninsured. Sweet.... Brian and the boys were accepted but they denied me as of now, and need an additional four weeks for review of my medical records. Seems my blood disorder (that resulted in the DVT ((aka: blood clot)) I got when I was pregnant) is a red flag. I told the Kaiser rep on the phone that I was not currently being treated but I guess it doesn't make a difference. UGH! I can elect cobra while I await their decision but that is going to cost an arm and a leg...which I can't spare ...so poor house here I come!! Anyway...even with the above Kaiser pitfall, I can still manage to say it was a great week! My new life is harder than I thought it was going to be, but it's growing on me. :)

Jake the playa sez, "How yooou doin? Your crib or mine babycakes?"

"I bet my muscles are driving you crazy!"

Sheesh!!

Today is the third day in a row that the boys have not taken either their morning or afternoon nap. I'm not sure if it's due to the colds they have...or maybe they're trying to get used to being home with Mommy...?? Who knows...but this is what I walked into after they refused their afternoon nap today.

Celebrity Sighting!

If you watch the Food Network then you might know who Guy Fieri is.
He won The Next Food Network Star in 2006 and is the host of
Guy’s Big Bite and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Guy lives in Santa Rosa and is a local celebrity due to his many restaurants in this area but mainly due to the TV show. Today we went to breakfast here in town and guess who was sitting behind me? *L*
Brian took this picture of me with Guy in the background using my camera phone.
I look like a total GEEK! *CHHHHEEEESSSSEEEEE!!*

Here is a picture of his Corvette....*L* Not at all flashy!
We didn't bug him during his meal (even though we did photo assassin him like the paparazzi!!) but it made for a funny breakfast. :)

Time For New Jammies!

"These Jammies are Ghet-TOE Mom!"

Taking a stroll...in the back yard!

I'm trying to get the boys used to grass....especially Jake who is terrified of it for some reason. So since Daddy had just cleaned up the Gerdie Patties and mowed the lawn, we put on our shoes and went out to explore!

"Let me get this straight Mom....I get free run??"
"Whooohoo! Love freshly mowed grass!"
"Come on Gerdie...lets check out the path that you're supposed to walk on (but never do!) to avoid tracking mud into the house. Seems easy enough...whats the problem Gerdie?""Are we on GRASS Mom?!? Forget it!! I'm stuck to you like white on rice!"
"Thanks for mowing the lawn Daddy! Now let me go so I can run around!!"
"MOOOOM! Why!? Why did you walk away and just leave me here!?!"
"Not gonna move an inch....I'm OK...I'm FINE...just chillin....BREATHE. Maybe if I stand like a baby chimp Mom will think I'm cute and come back and rescue me. MOOOOM!?! See how cute I am? Will you come get me PLEEEASSEE!!??!!??"

"OK. My legs are getting tired from standing in one place. I'll crouch but I'm not gonna touch the grass."

Zack to the rescue!! "Follow me Little Bro!"

"Hey! This grass isn't half bad!"

"This backyard is bigger than I though. I need to rest for a minute. I'll be right with you."

Stupid Slide Show....sheesh....

Try saying that three times fast!
Anyway...if the slide show pictures don't load you can click on the "view all images" button and it will direct you to photobucket where you can view it there. Sorry!

Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day Brian's sister Tiffany hosted a BBQ at her house. We went and had great food, blew bubbles, and the boys got to enjoy a swim in one of the two very "portable" mini pools that Auntie Diana got them for Easter. Brian gave me cards from the boys and I got their foot prints on a little plaster wall hanging as my gift. It was a perfect Mother's Day! :)

Happy Mother's Day!! :)

First Drawings!

We decided to get the boys some Crayola Color Wonder Markers and the special paper that the markers work on that way the first experience would not be quite so messy. It was great! They really seemed to enjoy themselves! We ended up scanning their first drawings and printing them out for Mother's Day cards for Grammy and Grandma. I hope they enjoyed their cards as much as I enjoyed watching my boys make them. :)
"Dad, are you sure that Z is facing the right way??"
