Rub-A-Dub-Dub...Twins in the Tub!

heehee!

Click on the below video to see how much Zack likes his bath.... :)

Thank you, Thank you Deebo!

My co-worker Debbie got the boys a Leapfrog Learn and Groove Musical Learning Table for Christmas! They love it and it's really helping Zack to want to stand up! Thanks Debbie!! Very, very thoughtful of you! :)

Play Date!

The boys had a play date with Danny and Lucy (9 month old B/G twins) last weekend and it seems to have really lit a fire under Zack's bottom. He's really progressed quickly over the last week. I think seeing other babies doing things he wasn't doing yet made him take the leap!

Over the last week Zack's begun to:
  1. Stay standing up while hanging on...very important to remember to hang on!
  2. Clap his hands...soooo cute!
  3. Crawl more consistently on hands and knees instead of the belly/commando crawl.
  4. And today he pulled himself up onto his toy bucket that was turned upside down!!! YIPPEE!!!

Here are a few pictures of Zack pulled up....YEAH ZACK!! Mommy and Daddy are so proud!!

And a few pictures from the play date.....

Three out of four smiling is pretty good!

Danny and Lucy's mommy Michelle is my bud. We met at our local MoM club (Mothers of Multiples) when we were both fairly early in our pregnancies. Michelle really helped me out emotionally in my final months of pregnancy when I was cranky, tired, and UNCOMFORTABLE. After the boys came she would send me encouraging emails and helpful tips to make sure I didn't loose my mind. Michelle delivered Danny and Lucy almost 2 months to the day after I delivered Zack and Jake. I hope that our kiddos are always the best of pals. :) Thanks for your warm friendship Michelle and for hosting the play date! We had a blast and I hope we get together again very soon for another one!

Good Grief.....

Sibling Rivalry has been poking it's head around the corner for months, but it jumped out and surprised the begeezus out of me yesterday!

Zack has always been vocal (AKA: passionate) about the grief that he is dealing with at any given moment in time, but yesterday...for the first time...he let Jake have it! BLAM-O!

I was picking the boys up at daycare and they were both climbing all over their daycare lady (Nita) when I got there. They both started to squawk when I came in....I guess that's, "MOMMY, MOMMY, PICK ME UP FIRST MOMMY!!!" in baby talk. I got down on my knees and gave both of them a hug. Just then, Zack let out a fierce yell and bonked Jake right on the head with his baby fist! Jake looked a bit surprised but then proceeded to BITE me on the hand HARD while I was telling Zack not to hit his brother! OUCH!!! It was chaos! I got them home, out of their car seats, and into their playpen so I could get their snack ready. I turned my back on them for a second and suddenly I hear all this screeching. I look back and Zack has Jake in a head-lock, holding onto both ears, and trying to BITE THE TOP OF JAKE'S HEAD! OH MY GOSH!!! I ran over and separated them and Jake started to cry. I don't think he knew what hit him because he's been so used to taking advantage of Zack for the past 6+ months. Jake has always been stronger than Zack and ALWAYS steals Zack's toys right out of his hands. I think Zack finally had enough and let Jake know he wasn't going to take it any more.

So I have hitting and biting to deal with now...

Brian and I are in for it for sure....and they're not quite 11 months old yet!! Does anyone have the number for Super Nanny?

A Year Ago Today....

....was my Baby Shower. :)

I was 31 weeks, 4 days along. Brian and I were blessed to have so many friends and family members truly shower us with kindness and generosity. Here is a picture of everyone that was at my shower.

"Everyone say Cheeeeese!!!"
Trying to look like a happy, glowing, pregnant woman....but actually swelling by the minute and practically sweating to death. The only thing that kept me from bursting into flames was the sweat.
31 weeks, 4 days
Attendees that brought diapers of any size or brand were put into a special drawing. The winner got a casserole baking dish and my super-dooper, extremely DEEEELISH Tater Tot Casserole Recipe! Believe me....those diapers were a LIFE SAVER over many months. PHEW!!! :)

Thank you, thank you to all the friends and family that came to my shower and thanks again for all the gifts that you truly showered us with. :)

One week later I was admitted into the hospital due to severe swelling in my left leg. I was diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis, or Blood Clot) and spent 2 nights in the hospital. I was finally sent home on Christmas day in the early evening with twice daily injectable blood thinners that I would have to take through the end of my pregnancy and 6 months after delivery. I'll never forget the sadness I felt spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning alone. :( This Christmas will be my boys first....and it will be the BEST Christmas I've ever had!!! I hope I never forget it. :)

Stay tuned for the drama of my delivery on that anniversary! Only 38 days until Zack and Jake's 1st Birthday! EEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Raspberries are hard when you don’t have a top lip...

Seasons Greetings from the March Fur-Babies!

Gerdie Claus says, "Do you want me to stand for the picture Mom?...Yeah, I think I should stand."

"Well, maybe I should sit....what do you think Mom? Does this coat make me look fat Mom?...be honest."

Don't misinterpret the look on Mayzie's face....believe me, it's pure warm fuzzies.
*eeevil-grin* ;}

Zack, Zack! He's the MAN!

The Zackster finally learned how to sit up on his own yesterday!!!!! YEAH ZACK!!!! He did it 4 times last night and Brian said he was sitting up in his crib this morning when he went in to get the boys up! Our daycare lady said he didn't do it for her today but he did it again for me tonight before dinner. :) I hope he continues! I've been so worried that he wasn't able to do it but our doctor assured me all is fine with him. It's soooo hard not to compare the abilities of the two but I need to remember that they will do and learn things differently and at different times. After all, they're just brothers born on the same day!

Tree's up!

We finally got the tree up....and decorated...and wrapped presents under it for a picture. It only took 2 weeks!

Gee how things change when kids enter your world. I used to put my tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving but this year was quite different. Brian put the pre-lit tree up....and 5 days later the decorations were still piled up in the living room blocking the view of the TV. Fast forward 2 weeks and the presents are finally wrapped and under the tree in time for a picture and a post before I head off to bed. We still have shopping to do and presents to wrap but it looks pretty good so far. I guess the Disney tree finally makes sense. :)

This video is for Peggy since she asked if the boys were talking. They say Mama, Dada, Baba...stuff like that. In the video (kinda dark...sorry) they are chatting with each other in our motel room at Disneyland on their 10 month birthday. They're probably talking smack about the horrible condition of our room but since I don't speak their language, your guess is as good as mine! Enjoy!

10 month check-up!

The boys had their 10 month check-up yesterday! They lost weight when they were sick but it's gradually coming back. They are doing great! I can't believe they're 10 months old!

Zack's Stats:

  • 21 lbs 12.2 oz (75%)
  • 29 1/4 inches long (50%)
  • 47 1/2 cm head (90%)

Jake's Stats:

  • 21 lbs 6.3 oz (75%)
  • 29 1/4 inches long (50%)
  • 47 cm head (75%)
I'm glad their heads are no longer "Off the Charts" in size and even gladder that their doctor didn't call them "Melon Heads" or "No Necks" like he normally does. Sheesh. He even commented this time that they looked more proportioned. So....no more Candy Apple, Bobble Headed Babies for me! ..... :(

Yeeeessssss.....Swweeeet!

A guy I work with gave the boys a Napoleon Dynamite Doll! LLUUCCKKKKY!!
Zack always enjoys a good nerd in a leisure suit for dessert. It's one of his favorites.

Jake says, "No Napoleon dessert for me Mom....I'm stuffed. I think I'll just scratch his eyes out instead."

New Play Pen Floor Tiles!

I ordered some squishy floor tiles for the boys Play Pen. They are much softer than the ugly rug we had in there and the boys seem to like the colors and slide all over the smooth surface. Jake is even crawling more consistently now that he has cush under his knees! Fingers crossed that Zack follows by example very soon!

Zack says, "DAD! Call off the Momaratzi! Enough pictures already!"

Need Christmas or Birthday Gift Ideas??
