Here Today....Gone Tomorrow!

So now I'm home...but we leave in the morning to drive down to Disneyland to meet my blogger friend Joanna and her twins Kat and Brody! I guess I'm a gluton for punishment...or maybe I'm just getting used to living out of a suitcase! I'll post more after we return.
Cheers! :)

Coming Home Today

So my visit with my Sister is coming to an end today. I got here on Friday and head home this evening. Thank goodness for direct flights! :) Here's a recap of my weekend.
We arrived Friday at 10:30 am and had a little lunch that my sister made and then my sister and her husband went for massages while my Mom and I stayed home and relaxed. I was able to take a short nap which perked me up. After they came back from their massages, my sister and I went to the mall to find her a maternity belt...hence the picture a few posts ago. That night we had Subway for dinner.

Saturday was my sisters Baby Shower and it was HOT! We went to lunch at Red Robin and had yummy burgers and fries....sooooo gooood....then we headed to the Baby Shower. My sister got lots of nice gifts and her friend that coordinated the shower had a fun craft session where everyone decorated onesies for the baby. What a neat idea! It was so hot in the church where the shower was so we headed down into the basement where it was much cooler and opened up gifts down there. Here are a few pictures from the shower.

Shower Guests!
After the shower we went to the grocery store and got Brats and Pasta Salad fixings for dinner. I cooked for everyone and we ate outside which was nice since it was starting to cool off a bit. PHEW!!
Sunday we went to TGI Fridays for lunch...not very good service or food...but it was still a nice time. :( Sunday seemed hotter than Saturday but hard to tell...I think my core was still hot from the day before! After lunch we went to Starbucks and I got to try a new treat that we don't have at the Starbucks in California....a Mint Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino with Chocolate Whip! OMG.....soooooo gooooood! I hope it's new and the next time I go at home it will be on the menu!! After the Starbucks drive-thru, we headed to a different mall to get out of the heat and run a few errands. After we got home my Mom and I decorated the baby's room since my sister had not finished it yet because she's been so tired due to her pregnancy. We put up a cute flower border, added lady bugs to the border, put her name up on the closet door, moved her curtains around and rearranged the furniture. The end result is cute and I think the room is ready for a baby now! :)
Dinner was egg salad sandwiches and then off to bed after watching Enchanted for the 15th million time per Spencer's request. :)

This brings us to today....Monday....and here I am typing this. My suitcase is all packed...I just finished my grilled cheese sandwich lunch that my BIL made, and I'm trying to recall the last few days which is hard because I think the heat fried my brain. I've missed my boys and my hubby terribly but it's been nice to SLEEP IN to 8am the last few days...aaaaah. :) That's something I haven't done in...I couldn't even tell you how long!! I'll be heading to the airport in a few hours so I better wrap this up! Thanks to my sister Brenda, her hubby Bryan, and my nephew Spencer for sharing their home with me and my Mom for a few days. Brian, the boys, and I will see you guys again in September! Love you! A couch picture just for Peggy since it's the long lost twin to hers in Virginia!

Stomach Crunches

We made it back from Aunt Tiffany's house with no drama. YEA!!!! The car didn't laugh at me and I didn't have to walk. All considered it was a good trip.

Jake wanted to work off some of his dinner so he did some stomach crunches in Aunt Tiffany's Ab Lounge. I'm not sure they named that correctly because you certainly don't let your abs lounge while you're using it. Maybe it's because after you use it all you can do is lounge your abs. I do believe it was modeled after a medieval torture device commonly referred to as The Rack.

FEEL THE BURN!

Keeping with the theme of exercise we also pulled out the Pilate's ball or as I like to call it the dodge ball from hell. The boys love this thing.

Then Aunt Tiffany gave the boys half of an uncrustable and let them loose in her house. Apparently she thinks they are capable of eating these without getting jelly & peanut butter everywhere. I managed to head off disaster by herding them into the kitchen and taking the soggy uncrustables away. I fed it to them a small piece at a time.

It's a little tough watching twins at someone else's house unless they also have little kids. Aunt Tiffany didn't really believe that until yesterday. Right before we left she looked at me and said "Wow! You have your hands full" Well. I wouldn't have it any other way.

The boys and I drove home about 8pm and they stayed awake the whole time even though it was past their bedtime. When we got home I put Jake in the house and went back to get Zack. When I came back in Jake was crying. I picked him up and he laid his head on my shoulder and hugged my neck. As soon as I put him down to change he started crying again. He was one tired kid. Of course, Zack was ready to play. They went down really easy and I tried to relax the rest of the night. Of course, I didn't sleep well. I don't think I'm used to sleeping alone any more.

We miss you Momma!

Adventure's Over!

Well, we made it back home after lunch. Grandma flaked on us so it was Aunt Tiffany & Uncle Tom. Lunch was great and the boys behaved really good so I don't have any fun pictures to share of lunch.

However, we stopped at Blockbuster on the way home to get some educational movies like Rambo and 10,000 BC. I mean what better way to educate them on the conflict in Burma and prehistoric times?

When we got back in the car I put the key in the ignition and turned and I swear I heard laughing. It was completely dead! I wasn't even getting that annoying dinging that tells me the keys are in the ignition. After trying it several times just to make sure I wasn't imagining things, I called Aunt Tiffany who lives 30 miles away. I'm not sure what I was hoping she could do. I also called my lovely wife and let her know that Murphy's Law sucks. I then loaded up the kids and walked home. Thank god I was just around the corner from the house.

I made it home and put the kids down for a nap. I called Aunt Tiffany back and asked her if they could come down that night or in the morning so I could get a new battery for the car. The car is almost 8 years old and still has the original battery so it's due for a replacement. Anyhow, she called Grandma, yes the one who flaked on us earlier, (We love you Grandma) and Grandma called me. I had her come over to sit with the boys while I got a new battery and installed it in the car. Took about 20 minutes. I know Jenny normally posts lots of pictures with her stories but the only one I have is of the offending battery.

It sure is an ugly thing. I should have taken a picture of the new one as well but I was in a hurry. It's fancy with a red top and an extra 100 cold cranking amps. Don't worry I don't have any idea what that means either.

So I came home and Grandma was sitting around waiting on me and the boys were still sleeping. We waited for them to wake up and then we took Grandma to get her car. I left it at Blockbuster since she didn't have kids seats in her car.

We got home and I started dinner for the boys. Grilled cheese! Mmmmmmm! After they finished eating we had bath time. While I was cleaning up bath time I happened to look over my shoulder and much to my surprise Jake was pulling out all of the grassy moss in the fake plant he was cleaning with his tongue last week. I took video of that so this post isn't a total waste.

I love the way Zack's head snaps around when I said Momma! We all really miss her!

That is all for now. We are going back to Aunt Tiffany's for dinner tonight so we may have more fun stories to tell. Hopefully none that require me to walk home though.

Thanks for listening or reading!

Knocked Up!

Who could resist an artificial pregnant belly with Velcro in the dressing room of a Motherhood Maternity store in Spokane Washington?!?!
NOT ME!!
(why am I crouching??)

Flashback Friday....Guest Poster

Well, this is my first attempt at posting on the blog. I've tried to avoid it but since Jenny is gone I really wasn't given a choice. She's only been gone a few hours (We miss you mommy!) so I don't have much to say yet or any pictures to post... but, I am amazed she feels safe leaving the boys alone with me since this happened the last time...

At least he has good taste in rum. I guess his options were limited since it's the only alcohol we have in the house except for Midori and you just can't drink that stuff straight.

We are going to visit Grandma and Aunt Tiffany for lunch today so it's our first adventure.

More later...

DISCLAIMER: No children were harmed in the taking of this picture!

Flashback Friday....31 Years Ago! DAAANG!

This is me and my big sister Brenda in July of 1977....aaawwww....wait....I'm old....BUT HEY!....she's older! *eee-vile grin* I'm sporting some sweet bangs huh? I refined my ability to cut a straight line over the years....and then people actually paid me to do their hair instead of pointing and laughing at my artistic attempts. I like this picture because when I look at it I see Zack and Jake. I think Jake looks like me and Zack looks like my sister. What do you think? Do you see it?
Today I'm flying to Washington with my Mom for my sisters baby shower!! I can't wait to see her and to see her baby belly. My sister and I are best buds. I miss her living close to me and am sad that our kids won't grow up together...maybe someday we will live close again. Brian and the boys and I will go up again in September after the baby arrives. Baby should be about a month old by then....if it doesn't come early! Anyway...I'll try to blog some pictures while I'm there....if not, then when I get back. Hope everyone has a nice weekend and hope my husband survives 4 days alone with the boys! Love you Honey and good luck!! Love you Zack and Jake! Mommy misses you already! HUGGGGSSS!!

I Miss My Tater and Tot Already....OH, And Hubby Too....

....and I haven't even left for my Sister's baby shower in Washington yet. :(
When I decided months ago to go to her shower hubby said I could have a break and go solo while he stayed home with the boys. I LOVED the idea of a little break and being able to sleeeeeeep! YIPPEEE!! Now that I leave tomorrow morning the thought of not seeing them for 4 days has me in a funk. I've never been away from them for more than 1 night at a time (thanks to a few overnighters courtesy of Grammy!) since they were born. I couldn't sleep last night thinking about how much I will miss them. I told Hubby he has to post pictures and updates daily on my blog so I won't miss them so much. So, be prepared for a Special Guest Co-Host for the next few days! It should be exciting!....or it better be Hubby.....no pressure! *eeeevil grin*

Tagged! The 6 Quirks Meme.....huh???

I have been tagged by my BBBFF Webmania for The 6 Quirks Meme...What the heck does that mean anyway?

Well, here's the rules:

1. Link the person(s) who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

My Quirks:

1. I eat the thing I like the least on my plate first to get it over with quick...that way I can enjoy the other stuff that I like more.
2. I have a lot of static in my hair and have to use Static Guard in my brush to help control it.
3. I rarely eat the crust on sliced bread or the the end crust on a slice of pizza. Hubby calls those "Pizza Bones" and "Sandwich Bones".....he usually eats them for me. Thanks Hubby!
4. I carry lip balm, finger nail clippers, and acetaminophen 24-7....cannot be without.
5. I am a firm believer that the toilet paper needs to roll off the roll from the top not the bottom....like a waterfall. If I see it the "wrong" way in someones house or in a public restroom, I correct the oversight. *L*
6. I FREAK out if someone moves the seat in my car or moves my mirrors. It will take me days and days to try to get it back to where it was....but then I always think it's just not right yet and will keep at it, and at it, and at it....

Now I tag, Brenda, Shelley, Audrey, Kristen, and Jill & Joanna....even though I see that you've both already been tagged by Katie so now you guys really have to do it! :)

Glamor Take Two!

So my hair wasn't as light as I'd hoped for so my hairdresser said she'd add more highlights for no charge. I went back yesterday and when I left I felt pretty light. I washed, dried, and flat ironed it this morning but either I'm smoking crack or my camera is color blind because my new after doesn't look much different from my first after.....what the heck??
First Before....
First After....
Second After....
hmmmm.....still not very blond....sheesh. :( I give up....well at least my hair does if I don't want it to fall off.
(heehee...I guess I wear a lot of black...these are 3 different black shirts in one week!)

Wordless Wednesday! ....Weirdo Jake

Get Steppin!

Zack loves to put the rings from the stacking toy on his feet and walk around like he's wearing high heels.....all the live long day. Click, click, click, click on the hardwood....it does a Mom of boys heart proud. :) Jake has been inspired to try too since Zack makes it look so effortless and appealing. Alas, even wearing only one "high heel" poor Jake did not inherit the grace that Zack was blessed with.
"A little privacy please....I haven't finished putting my heels on yet."

"Let's try sitting...that might work better.""Wow....these heels make my legs look a mile long!"
"A few times around the couch and I'll be ready for the runway."
"Hold please! I haven't finished warming up yet."
"OK....Time for Pictures! CHEEESSE!"

"And now I'm ready for the club scene!"

"IIII like big BUTTS and I cannot lie!" "Baby got BACK!"

Click on the video to check out the man in action....smoooooth.

Befores and Afters.....Glamor Day!

I got my hair trimmed and got some highlights for summer. It's not as light as I wanted, but it looks better than it did now that I see the before and after pics. I still feel like I have Soccer Mom hair but it's better than it was.
Before...
After!
Now its Zack's turn for a trim since he's starting to look like "The Donald" again.
Poor Jake....still not enough hair to need a trim yet. :(
Zack's Before...
He has no idea what's about to happen. *eee-vile grin*

After! Much better!

"Thanks Mom! Do I look tough with my new haircut, man boobs, and the one tear?"
