A Year Ago Today....

....was my Baby Shower. :)

I was 31 weeks, 4 days along. Brian and I were blessed to have so many friends and family members truly shower us with kindness and generosity. Here is a picture of everyone that was at my shower.

"Everyone say Cheeeeese!!!"
Trying to look like a happy, glowing, pregnant woman....but actually swelling by the minute and practically sweating to death. The only thing that kept me from bursting into flames was the sweat.
31 weeks, 4 days
Attendees that brought diapers of any size or brand were put into a special drawing. The winner got a casserole baking dish and my super-dooper, extremely DEEEELISH Tater Tot Casserole Recipe! Believe me....those diapers were a LIFE SAVER over many months. PHEW!!! :)

Thank you, thank you to all the friends and family that came to my shower and thanks again for all the gifts that you truly showered us with. :)

One week later I was admitted into the hospital due to severe swelling in my left leg. I was diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis, or Blood Clot) and spent 2 nights in the hospital. I was finally sent home on Christmas day in the early evening with twice daily injectable blood thinners that I would have to take through the end of my pregnancy and 6 months after delivery. I'll never forget the sadness I felt spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning alone. :( This Christmas will be my boys first....and it will be the BEST Christmas I've ever had!!! I hope I never forget it. :)

Stay tuned for the drama of my delivery on that anniversary! Only 38 days until Zack and Jake's 1st Birthday! EEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

OH you are soooo cute!!! You had a LOT of people attend! You are so popular:) I was burning up at my shjower too. Mine was hel at my MIL's house. I was so excited and then once I was there I just wanted to take my gifts, all the food, and go home and sit in front of a fan! :)

You are going to have the best Christmas ever!!

you looked so good - not even a drop of sweat in that picture! Did you like the Huggies diapers? They didnt work well for us at all :( We ended up using Pampers until we decided to go the cloth diaper route (which works really well by the way).
Did you have to use heparin? I needed those shots during my hospital bedrest to prevent blood clots and that shot burned sooo bad to me! You are so lucky they caught the DVT - could've been very disasterous! Glad you are okay!

Need Christmas or Birthday Gift Ideas??
