Anniversary Overnight Celebration!...Disney Style!

A spur of the moment, last minute decision was made and we were off to Disneyland to celebrate our Anniversary! YiPpEe!! Dreams can come true!! We have a small airport about 5 miles from our house so at 6:00 am on Friday morning we flew to LAX, stayed overnight at Disney's Grand Californian, flew back Saturday evening, and were home in time to put the boys to sleep. Grammy watched the boys overnight so thank you, thank you Grammy!!

Here we are about to leave for the airport at 5:00 am...Disneyland tickets in hand! Check!
Stupid McDonald's around the corner from our house was closed due to "Technical Difficulties" according to the sloppy handwritten sign taped to the drive-thru menu so we grabbed Peanut butter Cookies and a Diet Coke from the airport vending machine and boarded our little plane. Here we are being Cheese balls in our seats. Hey, who cares! We're freakin gonna be at Disneyland in a few very short hours!! Thanks Chick sitting across from us for taking our picture. Holla!!

On the Super Shuttle from LAX to Disneyland we didn't get to sit together... :( ... just what I wanted on my Anniversary. Brian was in the back, and I was seated shotgun across from the shuttle driver. I sent Brian whiney text messages about how I missed him, how it was weird to sit across from this stranger, and about how I needed my sunglasses. The next thing I know the kid behind me hands me my sunglasses. :) Thanks Honey and thanks Kid! Holla!!

We're Here! We're Here!!! YYYYYiPpEe!!!

Can you say, "Cha-CHING!?!" Swanky and expensive, but we're only staying for one night on this splurge....cause that's all we can afford! *L* And because it would kill us to be away from the boys for any longer than one night.

He asked Jennifer (the girl behind the counter) if she could recommend one of the hotel restaurants for a nice meal because it was our anniversary.....and she ended up giving us complementary dinner vouchers! Beverages and gratuity included! What a great treat! It would have cost around $75. Freakin LOVE you Disneyland and LOVE you Jennifer!!! Holla!!

It was hard to get a good picture of the dinner vouchers...and I'm sure I looked like a total dork taking picture after picture after picture....and then Brian too.....picture after picture. This was the best one. *L*

Enough of the room! It's 9:30 am so lets get to the park already!!

Now this would be the GOOD part of Disneyland. Since Brian proposed to me on this ride, the first ride of the day on any Disneyland or Disney World trip is alllllways Pirates of the Caribbean...FRONT ROW MANDITORY!! Holla!! to the cast member for taking this picture of us. (OK...enough of the holla's.)

LOOOVE Splash Mountain....but this would be the BAD part.....

And this would be the UGLY part. Soaked from head to toe....on a one night trip...with only one change of clothes....but thankfully the hotel supplies a hairdryer and shampoo. PHEW! (scroll back up to see the color change of my hoodie and pants. s...o...a...k...e...d.)

All dry and back for more fun.

Hollywood Tower of Terror is one of my favorites! Shocking since I suffer from such bad motion sickness....but for some reason this ride doesn't faze me. Notice the pink button that Brian is wearing...it says Happy Anniversary. A cast member at the restaurant gave it to us. It must be a rule that any cast member that sees you acknowledges the button because we were getting, "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!" from everyone we came into contact with. *L* I took mine off because it was reminding me of the attention I get as a twin Mom so it made me a little sad that I was there without the boys. :(

We slept pretty good in our home away from home...very comfy bed! Here Brian is pointing to our room...2217...remember??...the window directly above his head. We checked out, left our bags with baggage claim at the hotel, and went back to the park on Saturday morning for a few hours. The Super Shuttle would be there to pick us up at 2:30 for our 5:30 flight back home. (Why 3 freakin hours Super Shuttle?? Sheesh!!...the airport is only 40 minutes away! grrr....)

Anyway...we had a super great time! I'm so glad we stayed at the Grand Californian even if it was only for one night because we'll probably never get the chance to stay there again. It was nice to have a little break from reality and act like a kid. When I got home I cried a tiny bit because I missed my boys so much and their smiles when we came into the house were such a joy. Thanks again to my Mom for watching the boys. We wouldn't have this memory that will last a lifetime without your help. We love you!!
