So...today, my sweet, perfect, lovely, angelic little 23 month old babies
managed quite successfully to
LOCK ME OUT OF THE FLIPPIN HOUSE WHEN I WENT TO CHECK THE MAIL!
I was locked out for nearly 20 minutes!!!!
I went to check the mail and I come back to the front door and the deadbolt is locked!!! I freaked because the boys are inside alone....I knew the door leading into the kitchen from the garage was also locked as well as the patio door. So here I am in my brand new slippers running from door to door and watching the boys through the windows and telling them to, "Open the door for Mommy" but no….all I get is smiles and laughter. Sweetness I tell you....bless their little hearts....grrrr. I went to my neighbors door and knocked to see if I could use the phone to call Brian but there was no answer. I was finally able to get into the house on my own, PHEW, but I'm not going to say how in case a weirdo creeper is reading this. What a relief, but now I’m freaked that anyone could figure out what I did and do the same thing and get in our house!!! I called Brian and told him we need to stash a key in case it happens again but this really opens up a giant can of worms since the boys can reach the deadbolts. They could get out if we’re not watching closely…like if I’m in the garage switching laundry or in the bathroom. OHHHHH GEEEEZZEEE!!! These boys are really giving me a run for my money! I wonder what I could get for them on eBay?

I put my money on Jake! I bet he was the one who did it!! Glad you got back in, but I think it sucks that creepy people read this and you have to edit! I'm glad you did though! :) Sweet little babies, they'll get ya when you least expect it!
I wonder if they make baby proof things to go over the deadbolt? I'm laughing at the idea of you running outside the house in brand new slippers. I guess that's one way to break them in - lol.
Oh no! Why do I think this is in my not too distant future!?!
I'm glad you got in okay.
Oh MY!!! Bug still can't do this. I am so lucky that he has fine motor delays.
Oh no!!!!! On the bright side...at least you aren't where I live where there is 12 inches of snow you would be running around in your slippers in.
I remember when I was pg with the twins, Braeden managed to do the same thing and I was panicked. Dh said to climb in through the basement window....ummmm my belly was not going to fit in a basement wondow.
Anyway, glad you figured it out.
I was cracking up reading this, but I can imagine how scary it must have been for you! Wonder if there is a way to baby-proof the deadbolt or maybe have to change it to one with a key for both sides??
