My blog is generally about my twins....which is perfect if you ask me, but I've decided to dedicate this entry to ME since today is the 1 year anniversary of the day before I became a MoM (Mother of Multiples). On this day last year I was uncomfortable, cranky, and swollen...but also not a Mom of Twins yet. I forget the person I used to be at times....I used to be free to come and go, free to be selfish with my time, and free to SLEEP! Now I'm a Mom of Twins. I love this honor and wouldn't change my new title for anything. So in honor of ME and my blogging habit I'm going to attempt to write 100 trivial facts, quirks, and truths about ME...in no particular order....Here goes!
- I have a spider phobia....big time. I don't like seeing them in real life or in pictures. If I see something dark out of the corner of my eye, I immediately think SPIDER!!!
- I love Disneyland. The actual park....not necessarily Disney stuff ...which I generally do love, but its not the same as the love I have for the park itself. I honeymooned at Disney World which was great but it really doesn't have the charm of the original. I hope to go to all the other Disney parks in my lifetime and take a Disney cruise as well. *wink, wink Hubby*
- I met my husband in 1998 at work. It was an office romance which was encouraged by the owner. Go figure.
- I have no tattoos....don't think I want one because I can't figure out what I want.
- I have always struggled with my weight. I'm an emotional and social eater. I love to go out to eat. Anything that tastes good and is bad for you is what I crave.
- I love massages.
- I've had acupuncture once...it was weird....especially when they lit the needles on fire. I felt like I was going to burst into flames but wouldn't be able to stop, drop, and roll due to all the needles sticking out of me.
- I used to be a hairdresser...or the more PC term, Cosmetologist. I was the assistant manager of the salon I worked at. Now I'm lucky if I get my hair cut twice a year.
- I love eBay...buying and selling!
- I'm cheap, cheap, cheap...I love sales, bargains, coupons.
- I don't really like to read that much. My husband is a reading junkie. He always has a book in his hand or close by. I hope the boys pick up that habit.
- I HATE MATH and it hates me back.
- I don't speak any other language besides English. I took German in high school...it was a poor decision....
- I never finished college. I did finish Cosmetology School though so I'm not a Beauty School Dropout.
- I've lived in California, Alaska, Japan, New Mexico, Arizona, and Illinois....Air Force Brat.
- I don't like playing or watching sports.
- I always thought it would be cool and wanted to have twins. Now that I know how hard it is, I warn people that say they want twins.
- I married my best friend on April 3rd, 2004.
- I love flowers and plants, but I hate gardening. Most of my houseplants are fake because I'm the world's worst plant person.
- I love to bake.
- My best girlfriend is Anne. I've known her for 22 years. We don't see each other very often now a days but I still love her.
- I love to take pictures.
- I want to be pregnant again someday.
- I love potato chips. I can eat an entire bag myself....without coming up for air.
- I've never smoked....tobacco or marijuana.
- I have wavy hair...too wavy for my liking. I blow dry it straight but on foggy or rainy days it fights back and gets revenge.
- I have a black mini-schnauzer named Gerdie and a calico cat named Mayzie. I guess I like old lady names.
- I had braces in high school and again in 2004 right after I got married. I got them off on 12/20/2005. I love my straight teeth.
- I have 2 genetic mutations that predispose me to blood clots so I can never take the Pill again and should never smoke. Not smoking should not be a problem.
- I love to decorate.
- I'm a worry wart and a stress case....it's crippling at times.
- I'm not a dreamer. I don't like the let down when I come back to reality.
- I wish I could work at Disneyland. (Pretty much my only dream...see #32) I'd love to be a Cast Member. I have to convince my husband that it's a good idea.
- I hate the rain.
- I miss my friends. I hardly ever see them anymore. :( When I do, I don't want them to leave.
- I love my TiVo. I'm addicted.
- I found out I was pregnant on 6/6/06. A lot of people freaked me out about the symbolism of the day. It scared me at first but I'll never forget the date or how I felt when I found out.
- I never imagined I'd really ever be a home owner, a wife, a mom....let alone a mom of twins.
- I got my tonsils out when I was 17. It sucked and felt like I was swallowing razor blades.
- I like my left hand more than I like my right hand. Good thing my wedding ring is on the left. People say I have long fingers...I don't really see length...I see boney fingers.
- I'll be 36 on September 20th. I feel like it's good luck when I see 9:20 on the clock.
- I had laser eye surgery a few years ago. It was the best thing I've ever done for myself.
- I love Tater Tots. I could eat them 24-7. In my opinion, they are the perfect food.
- I hate my freckles and hope my boys don't get them. I wish I could tan.
- My first name legally is Jenny...not Jennifer. Jenny Rebecca. I was named after a Barbara Streisand song from the 60's titled "Jenny Rebecca". Olivia Newton John re-recorded it in the 90's although pretty much no one has ever heard of the song....I dare you to Google it.
- I hope my boys are great people, outgoing, and have tons of friends.
- I say soda....one of my sisters says pop.
- I love pasta....creamy pesto sauce is to die for.
- I wish I had enough money so I didn't have to worry about money.
- Salad gives me heartburn.
- I can burp better than any guy I know.
- I have small feet for my height....6 1/2.
- I'm almost 5'7".
- I can't go anywhere without 3 things.....my chapstick, acetaminophen, and finger nail clippers. It's a sickness.
- I love caves.
- I pop my knuckles.
- I miss my sister that moved to Washington. :(
- I wish I didn't HAVE to work. I wish I could work if I wanted to.
- I love LOST, Big Brother, and American Idol.
- I used to be very patient. No longer....
- I don't wear much jewelry. I'm not a very flashy person...more of a wall flower.
- I'm not very trusting of people. I've been burned by friends and relationships.
- I never thought I'd carry my twins to 37 weeks and deliver them at 7 lbs and 6 lbs 13oz. I was sure I'd go into preterm labor and they would be born too early and have problems. I can't believe I got so lucky. I'm glad I was wrong.
- My favorite movie of all time is Indiana Jones. I can't wait for the 4th one to come out in May of this year!!
- I'm pretty crafty but I get stressed with the creative possibilities floating around in my head. So stressed that I just crumble most of the time because I can't make up my mind.
- I hate wrapping presents but love to look at them when they are all wrapped up.
- I love cheese.
- I gained 94 lbs during my pregnancy....more than half of it was water retention and babies. I lost nearly 60 lbs in the 10 days I was in the hospital after my c-section complications. My doctor was taking bets with the nurses that I'd loose 15 lbs in one day after a shot of diuretic...I lost 12. Thank GOD for catheters.
- I'm easily distracted.
- I can pass up sweets....but pass up salt and fat?....no way....
- I sleep on my right side, hugging a body pillow, covers almost over my head, nose sticking out. I get stressed if I try to fall asleep on my left side....it just doesn't feel right.
- I said covers above instead of blankets.
- I'm a perfectionist. It slows me down.
- I love the Trial isle in any store. Small versions of things make me giddy.
- I've never been to Hawaii but would LOVE to go some day.
- I'm a mean drunk. :( I wish I was a happy one.
- I hate to clean the house. I try not to mess it up so I don't have to clean it. This used to work when I was single. Now that I have a Hubby, 2 babies, and 2 pets its a distant memory.
- I love soaking in the bath tub. I don't get to do it very often any more but when I do I love it. It almost makes me purr.
- I wish I was at Disneyland.....right......now.
- I can't snap or whistle very well.
- When I shout my voice cracks like a boy going through puberty.
- I've had 7 surgeries in my 35 years...8 if you count being knocked out to have my impacted wisdom teeth removed...wait 9 if you count Laser Eye surgery!
- I love buffets.
- I eat the center out of my pancakes and leave the edges behind. Edges are dry. I prefer pancakes over waffles....waffles are ALL dry.....like one big pancake edge.
- I get terrible car/motion sickness. :(
- I wish my lips were fuller. Zack has Hubby's full lips. :) Jake got my lips. :( ....poor Jake.
- I can flair my nostrils....pretty fast too. Gross but funny.
- I got my first cavity at 30. I only have the one filling and it's in a back molar on the back side so you can't see it unless you're a dentist or a weirdo with a mirror in my mouth.
- I love Brown, Tan, Cream....boring to some, but warm to me. I go for neutrals but the primary colors are growing on me since the boys came into my life.
- It's taken me forever to come up with this list. Only 9 more to go!
- I drive too fast. I've gotten 2 speeding tickets and was pulled over and given a warning. I'm not proud of this.
- I love the anticipation of upcoming birthdays, holidays, weddings, showers. Any reason to celebrate makes me happy!
- I used to have the best memory. After I got pregnant I suffered from Pregnesia. Now I suffer from Momsheimers. It scares me to death that I can't remember what I was just thinking about 5 minutes ago and if I don't write things down now they are lost forever. My guys are a year old....those pregnancy hormones must be out of my system by now? Will I ever be back to normal?!?
- I love my husband more than words can say. I can't believe I got so lucky in finding him.
- I love my twins but I'm a little sad that I will never get to experience the bond of having one baby to devote all my time and attention to. If I had another I'd still have my boys to take care of. Oh well....some things were just meant to be!
- The following things that people say to me drive me CRAZY!! ~ Are they twins? (No...one is a year old, the other is 12 years old. He's a little person.) Are they identical? (Yes, but they look nothing alike.) Better you than me! (You're probably right about that!) Double trouble! (Twice as nice!) You've got your hands full. (No, really? 2 crying, puking, pooping babies is a piece of cake.) I always wanted twins. (Bite your tongue.) Twins run in my family so I'll probably have twins. (OK...whatever you say.) Aren't you glad they aren't triplets? (Ummm, yes actually I am.) Do you wish one was a girl? (Do you wish your boy was a girl?) My kids are a year and a half apart so I know exactly how you feel because it's pretty much just like having twins. (Ummm yeah....it's nothing like having twins but OK, continue with your story.) And many more....
- I suffered from post-partum depression for the first 6 months or so. I got through it without taking anything and I feel much better and much more capable of caring for my babies now. Going from no children to 2 newborns was quite an assault to my senses and my heart goes out to any woman who suffers and feels helpless or guilty when her baby or babies are crying and you don't know what to do about it.
- I hardly ever babysat as a teenager and I was the youngest. I was never around babies or kids.
- I can't believe that I spilled my guts to the world on this post.
- I can't believe I'm finally done with this list!! Yesssss!
Thanks for reading all about ME! I dare all my blog buddies to do the same! ;} Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of me becoming a MoM at 1:11 pm and 1:12 pm.
Stay tuned for paaarrrtay pictures! :)

That was GREAT! I did it too. I started HOURS ago! LOL
I loved the list!!! How cool is that. Maybe I will take you up on your idea. It would take me forever! Are there really 100 things there??? Holy Smokes!
You sound like a really neat person!
Wow, it would take me forever to come up with 100 things! I share a few things on your list - I LOVE Disneyland too, we had our honeymoon at Disneyworld as well. I also met my husband at work.
Thanks for spilling your guts :). That was fun to read!
ME AGAIN! Wanted to say, I think you started a trend! How cool!
I saw this on Peggy's blog and I'm going to do this, but adding only one fact per day to my blog. Is started today! Thanks for the idea!
I've heard of that song!
Love,
Jennifer (Rebecca) Wells...
PS. Your blog is wonderful! Thank you for posting your L&D and recovery story. Wow!
I LOVE your list-- I came up with one for me, too, but it's not half as interesting as yours. I also love the fact that you posted 1-year-ago photos and shared your very exciting birth story (and tense at times). I love reading your blog, so keep writing!
