A twin Mom friend of mine (holla Amy!) said she made
Jessica Simpson's Chicken and Dumplings
as seen on the Rachael Ray Show
and her husband loved it! I decided to give it a try for a few reasons....
it looked simple and yummy, I don't ever remember eating chicken and dumplings before (unless I did as a child??), and because I just wanted an excuse to by a rotisserie chicken...something else I've never had to my recollection. (I'm typing this post with a southern accent since it's about Chicken and Dumplings! *L*)
I did substitute cream of chicken soup with cream of potato and ended up mixing the soups and broth together before I poured it over the dumplings. Brian, Jake and I really liked it! Zack gagged though and ended up having a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with Milk for dinner....a first for him but he did great...no mess!

"What's cooking Mom!?! Smells yummy!!"

"Zack! Are you CRAZY?!? This is DELICIOUS!"
"Keep your Chicken and Dumplings Mom cause I'm loving this cereal!!!"

P.S. Jake ate C&D leftovers today for lunch. The kid loves this stuff! :)
Zack managed to get two spoonfuls down for lunch before gagging on the third. That's progress!

Jenny you are so funny with your southern accent!!! :) I am sure this is yummy, we are trying it tomorrow, but trust me...this is FAR from what real chicken and dumplings are!!!!!!!

Glad at least Jake liked it. And Jennifer is so right - this is a LONG way from my Mamaw's Chicken and Dumplings but it is as close as we will ever get in my kitchen!
YUM! I like Jessica Simpson and I love Chicken & Dumplings! We just had C & D in the crock pot last Sunday.

Must be a "Zack" thing. My Zach doesn't care for C&D either. But now that he is older, I make him eat a small portion of whatever I make. I am not Mommy Dearest or anything, I don't give him that much:)

We are so making this on Thursday night. I think I will have the same problem as you - Brody will eat it, but Kat won't. We shall see. Did you use cressent rolls? The recipe said croissant but I could only find cressant rolls.
I soooo don't like regular C&D but when I saw this was with cressent rolls I know my family would LOVE it and they did! Except for Summer and Chase. They hated it. Weirdos!!!!!
